Second Annual Children’s Earth Day Fair

Our school’s celebration of Earth Day is this Wednesday, April 20th from 3:15 to 5:30 pm at the White Barn Campus. It features an interactive, educational and entertaining Animal Embassy presentation. Children will discover how important each animal is to its habitat as they get eyeball-to-eyeball with live snakes, chinchillas, frogs, lizards, and more. Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) volunteers will teach outdoor education basics like knot tying, tent set up, and how to “leave no trace” through child-oriented games. To kick off the event, Brother Kojo Bey of Sounds of Afrika will lead students in African Drumming.

Our own Oaks students will host activity stations and games, including:
· earth-friendly crafts (felting, stamping)
· old-fashioned carnival games with an eco-twist like Trashketball
· facepainting
· scavenger hunt and a few surprises.

The event is free and open to the public, especially families with younger children. Click on this link for a flyer to print out and post if you wish.
